North High Track Star Ben Allen Successful at Concordia
September 28, 2017
Many athletes have been successful at North High School over the years, but one in particular stands out this fall. Ben Allen, a long distance runner at Concordia College in St. Paul, is setting the track on fire. After breaking a record in long-distance running, he answered a few questions/
At North High, Allen started as a sprinter but after a workout with the long-distance team, his coach told him he would be joining the team. He ended up as a star long-distance runner for the team and a captain. When asked if he would want to claim the title of Captain at Concordia, he says “I haven’t reached that goal yet…it would be a dream to be captain.”
He says he tries to lead by example at Concordia…”I try to lead by example and be in a role of leadership and be a good example wherever I go.”
He loved the atmosphere at North High School. He believes Homecoming was a great source of school spirit and loved going to the games with his friends. Some advice for North High students…”set goals and never give up. There’s going to be bad races, so don’t get down on yourself. Just keep going and never give up.”
