Handling School Work With A Job
November 17, 2017
Do you have a job? If you do, how do you find time to do your school work? Teens in high school with jobs are chasing money while getting experience with something new.
Ty Richardson a Junior at North High School works at Macy’s in the Maplewood Mall. Ty says “Managing homework after work is kind of stressful for me because I usually work right away after school and then I have to come back home and do homework. Some nights I stay up until two or three in the morning just doing homework”. But Ty says it’s worth it because he can finally buy what ever he wants now.
Pheng Kong also a Junior at North High School works at McDonald’s. Pheng says “I don’t really like my job mainly because of all the grease and the angry customers. But for each week I work, I don’ really get a lot of hours, so it’s pretty easy for me to complete my homework on time”. Even though Pheng doesn’t like his job much, he says it’s a good place to start your first job if you don’t have one.
At North High School, kids seem to be able to handle school work and have a job at the same time, even though sometimes they struggle, they find a way to pull through.
