North High Theater: Meeting the Cast
September 14, 2018
As the musical, Addams Family, is soon to become David Beardsley’s third musical production in high school as he will be playing Gomez Addams, he was asked to tell more details about being in North’s Musical productions and what’s it like to become a different character.
He was questioned about the challenges of bringing a character to life and his response was: “The most challenging part is understanding the character. Once you get to know how you character acts or feels you can start to become that character. I find developing the character one of the more challenging parts of acting.”
Beardsley also explained how another challenge was putting on a good show for all families and students to watch while on a production. He’s always finding new ways and methods to make the audience laugh and enjoy the show which explains his involvement in the theater; He loves making his friends and audience laugh and smile as he’s being a character on stage.
When asked about a character that affected him personally, he expressed that his character Lord Farquaad from last year’s, Shrek the Musical, changed his outlook of acting; he realized that he can make the audience laugh and smile at his performance and also give them a memorable experience.
Outside of his acting and musical life, Beardsley enjoys being with his friends and perfecting his accents to make people amazed and laughed! Let him break a leg as Gomez Addams this year!
