Walkout at North High School

Last year North high school had a walk out and it seems that it is happening once again. I had asked Sabrina Aguillon, who is a junior and North High School who seems to be one of the leaders of this walkout, and asked her some questions and got more details about the walkout.

The walkout is happening on Friday October 12 and it is being done because of the election of Brett Kavanaugh who is considered by some to be a “sexual predator.”

Brett Michael Kavanaugh in a jurist and an American lawyer, and was newly elected to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Sabrina had planned for the walkout to be at 12 pm, and had planned to go to the capital with some of her fellow supporters. Some reactions Sabrina has gotten from the student body are things like “victims can lie”. Some positive feedback is also coming from her supporters.

After the walkout Sabrina is waiting for all of the reactions on this event. Last year the walkout included 84 people and had crazy reactions to it. Which was “surprising” to Sabrina and made her feel proud and happy of the changes she’s trying to make and all the support she had received. This year so far according to when I asked her on the 10th of October she so far has 24.

Goals of this walkout is to “teach consent in schools”. Sabrina plans on making a difference and that electing sexual predators is not okay. She will get support as well as hate but will always fight for what she thinks is right.
