Emily Johnson is a senior this year at North High who has a lot to share about her eventful life. Johnson is on North’s tennis team, National Honor Society, prom committee and robotics. That’s just a glimpse into Johnson’s life, and there is a lot more to learn about her adventures. I interviewed Emily about her seemingly busy life and other things she’s passionate about and does with her time. Let’s get to know Emily Johnson.

To start things off, in the Johnson family is her mother, father, older sister Amber (20) and of course, herself. Her favorite subject school would “Definitely any science class. Right now I’m in AP bio.” She enjoys science classes because “Science has always been very interesting to me” and states the classes “tend to be pretty easy.” Johnson had no problem with answering the question asking what her favorite animal is. “I love cats. I don’t have any but one day I want at least three.” She aspires to be known as a crazy cat lady. Emily’s favorite color is purple because it makes her think of candy like grape skittles. Her favorite food is “any type of pasta, ravioli is my favorite type.”

The qualities Emily thinks are best in a person include having a sense of humor and people who have goals to work for in their lives. “If the person doesn’t strive for anything they tend to be the type of person I don’t associate myself with.” Johnson believes it is hard to pick one favorite season when asked. “Each season has things I like and don’t like about it.” If she had to choose however, she would pick spring. She chooses spring because “It’s just warming up, everyone is excited and the snow is melting.” She went on to say she also enjoys that the sun comes out more in the spring. Emily’s favorite place is Wisconsin Dells. “My family goes to Mount Olympus every year and it’s just a time to relax with my family while getting super tan.”

Emily has big plans after high school. She now has plans to attend the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse. Johnson is going to take her science skills beyond the classroom. She will major in biology “with an emphasis in biomedical engineering. Like I said, I like science!” Johnson said her inspiration in life is her older sister, Amber. She states “I’ve always looked up to her. She’s super cool, she’s funny and she seems like she knows what she’s doing.” When Emily needs advice, she usually asks her sister first. Lastly, Johnson’s hobbies beyond school include dancing and painting. Johnson has been dancing at Larkin dance studio since 2005. Painting has become a recent passion of Johnson’s. She loves “watching Bob Ross and aspire to paint like him one day.” In conclusion, Emily Johnson is taking off in her life. She is majorly involved with school, is passionate about her family and of course would like to be a crazy cat lady someday. If anyone thinks she’ll quit striving anytime soon, they may want to think again.
