Meet Greg Nelson

The president of the school himself!

The president of the school himself!

I’ve recently interviewed Greg Nelson, the North High principal, to find out more about his life outside of North, because everyone knows him by name, but not everything else.

He was born on December 6th, 1956 in Minneapolis and has been married to Janet for 38 years. Mr. Nelson has 2 daughters (who are currently in their 30’s), and will become a grandfather next month. Greg Nelson arrived at North on the fall of 2003. He was an assistant principal for 2 years before he became principal in 2005. So far, this is his 14th year as principal.

Mr Nelson said that North High is having a generally good year, and likes the students and staff. His top priority (or the hardest part of his job), is to ensure that everyone at the school is safe, and his favorite thing about school is the Student of the Month event, along with school activities and athletic events. The students make him laugh every day, because they do funny things all the time!

Outside of school, his Christian faith comes first in life. Mr. Nelson is a sports junkie, likes to read, do construction work, and likes to do pretty much anything in the great outdoors. He additionally likes to binge watch some Netflix.
