Heaven Ballard is a 11th grade poet, she loves to create poetry affiliated with every day activities subjects. She shares her poetry with the American Library of Poetry; one is called “What Existence”. It is about the idea of religion and how people is always trying to get others to join their religion even though the religious people themselves don’t know if what they believe in is a real thing. Heaven compares it to Instagram, to collect as many followers as possible. She gets her inspiration from “everyday life” and from when she is sad and even from books. She sees no real future with her poetry but does plan on writing a book filled with her poetry.

What Existence

Life is what we call our insignificant existence.

Earth is what we call this abolished sphere.

We take, we kill, and we don’t care who is saddened and sullied by their tears.

We often don’t care who lives, we only care, who is going to die next.

My life has of no existence because I’m just a pawn for god and satan to play with.

When the heart dies…

         We die along with it…

               When we are dead…

                         There is no in between…

Why give life when it will be taken by the depths of hell or the pearly whites of heaven?

Blood runs through my veins just to slit my wrists and pour my blood for the loyalty of others.

All existence is basically insignificant because the quality of my life will be measured by the kings who call themselves god and satan.

Do we exist for the good?

Or do we exist for the bad?

Our existence is the cause of other people and animals extinction

Our presence make it clear that we’re selfish human beings.

My biggest fear is that eventually you will see me the way I see myself.
