Staff Reports

In an exciting night of spirited competition, the North Knowledge Bowl team appointed themselves very well at the first “Round Robin” meet of the year on December 12 at Spring Lake Park High School.
Claire Schoonmaker, Jemima Cooke, and Katherinne Fox comprise the “North Smart Chix” team, and they had a big night. Their written round placed them in Room F (with A being the highest), but they dominated Oral Round 1, moving themselves into the highly competitive Room B.
In Round 2, the Smart Chix beat up on the competition again, almost (but not quite) pushing up into Room A.
It was back in Room B for Round 3, and the Smart Chix held their own in a tight battle. When the dust settled, the score was 11-11-10, with North scoring 11. That was enough for them to “punch their ticket” into Room A for the final round!
Round 4 was exciting but a bit tough for the Polars, as they ran into a “buzzsaw” against a very, very tough Tartan team. They only scored 3 points against Tartan’s 16. It was not a fun way to finish, but the Smart Chix are holding their heads high and looking ahead to the next round of competition in January.  Well done, girls!
Also in competition were the North “Foxtrot” team, (consisting of Julia Truoung, Barikura Naador, Lucas Petersen, and Robert Tran) and the North “South” team (consisting of Robbie Sivill, Leighton Joy, Raina Robideaux, and Lucas Haindfield). They played hard and did very well. Congrats, North Knowledge Bowl players!
