Spirit Week is when we dress according to the schedule and bring out our spirit, filling the school with joy and enthusiasm! At North High, this year’s Homecoming Spirit Week occurred from September 22 to 26.
Students kicked off Monday with Model Day, dressing their best to impress and prepare themselves for Picture Day! The day went smoothly, as students were called by their last names throughout the day. As for the staff, their pictures were taken before the first hour classes commenced.
On Tuesday, it was Bikers vs. Surfers Day, where students had the choice to dress as either one — or even a mix of both! Some students were seen roaming around the hallways in black outfits, the classic biker look, while others sported beach-style attire, as if they were ready to hit the waves.
Midweek brought Wig Day, with around 30 people seen wearing wigs, but it was certainly not most people’s cup of tea. Colors like red, purple, pink, and white were common. Some wigs were long, reaching the shoulders, while others were short, resembling George Washington’s hair.
On Thursday, it was Country vs. Country Club Day. Many people were seen wearing cowboy hats and farmer hats, and one person even dressed like George Washington. It was a fun day, with lots of students showcasing their creativity through different boots and old-money styles.
Friday closed the week with Red Out Day! This means students were encouraged to wear all red, or anything red, such as a red t-shirt or one made for the pep fest. Of all the spirit days, this is probably everyone’s favorite — it makes the school look like a sea of red, almost like a code red takeover.
Every Spirit Week is a reminder to show your pride and support for your school — with creativity, enthusiasm, and the freedom to choose your own outfits. It all leads up to the big finale on Saturday: the Homecoming event.
