The North High Band class is a fun, social class you can take right here at North. The band does all kinds of fun activities throughout the year—in fact, they’ve already had two performances: one during a football game and the other in a parade. Now, as the fall season rolls in, the band is preparing for its first concert of the year, titled Autumn Harmonies.
The Autumn Harmonies concert took place on October 9, 2025, in the North High Auditorium. The concert featured three different band performances and a small group of choir members called the Eleventh Ave Singers. At the end, they performed together as one group.
As I watched the concert, I noticed that all the students knew where to go when they entered the stage and seemed focused and on task. When they started playing, everyone watched the conductor closely and raised their instruments to play when cued in. It seemed like a strong performance, but I wondered what the performers thought of it—so I asked my friend Payton.
Q: How prepared did you feel for this concert?
A: “I think I’m very prepared for the concert. I practiced many times.”
Q: What was going through your head while on stage?
A: “While I was on stage, I was thinking I was ready to play my music.”
Q: Did you enjoy the music you played, or would you have liked other music?
A: “I enjoyed the music, especially Candy Factory.”
Q: How do you think your performance went? Is there anything you would’ve done differently?
A: “I think my performance went great. One thing I wish I would’ve done differently was look up at Hammerman more.”
Q: What do you think was your biggest success in the performance?
A: “My biggest success in the performance was definitely the dynamics.”
