Hope’s High for North High’s Upcoming Basketball Season

The up and coming and highly anticipated basketball season for North High is approaching very fast. Students can’t do anything but hope best for this season. After last season, many of North High’s student body has had positive outlooks on the upcoming season.

Darmah Tokpa, a North freshman that’s trying out for the team, answered when asked “Do you think newer students trying out for the team will help the team to be successful this year?” said: “Yeah, I do. There are a lot of new students who are really good, and have potential to help out the team.” Differently though, Emmanuella Anigbogu, a North High Junior, mentioned “I believe they have a chance, but they most likely will end up like how they did last year…not that good.”

In 2016, North High went to state for basketball. The boys on the team are trying to aim for the stars, and keep positive. They all have one goal. Going to state. They have began pre-season training to help them physically and mentally prepare for the upcoming season. They want to beat all opponents if possible. Darmah continued: “I think there’s a chance for us to go to state. If we work hard, and the guys take the team serious, we can do it.”

In contrast to North’s football team, the basketball team is expecting to get a few wins throughout the season. North’s football team took many losses, so the rest of the school learned from those mistakes, and the boys basketball team are going to try to avoid following in the footsteps of the boys football team.

As of now, all we can do is keep our hopes high for our boys team, and encourage them. Do you think North High’s Basketball team will do well this season?
