Tom Lakner is a para who has been working at North for about 10 years. He’s had many careers, but finds working in this environment the most satisfying.

Every summer after school is out, Tom packs up his gear and heads out west to the mountains. He does what is called, Long Distance hiking. He has completed most of the pacific crest trail having done sections in California, Oregon and Washington.

His longest walk was nine hundred miles from Northern California to Mount Whitney.

This coming summer, he has plans to go fishing in the Sierras and piece together a long hike in Washington.
