North High School’s contemporary student band, known as Polar Drift, had their second performance of the 2025-2026 season with an outstanding show at Casey Lake Park’s Autumn Arts Festival. After taking a break from the stage following their gig in Memphis, Tennesse in the late spring, it was clear they were ready to take center stage once more.
With a starting act by Maya Forsberg and Asher Ankiabom singing 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago, the students made it clear that despite not having performed as a group all summer, they were far from rusty. The show consisted of solos, duets, and trio numbers along with a special all-member finale. From a heart warming duet of Sweet Caroline by Quinn Powell and Anglaya Lee, to an energetic recital of Valerie by Brilee Nelson, this Polar Drift performance had it all.
Furthermore, the audience was treated to Becca Ruzin’s exciting rendition of Rolling in the Deep by Adele and Xishlub Vang’s striking performance of Zombie by the Cranberries. Celie Walters and David Forga then soothed the audience with their staging of Let It Be, a perfect tonal break after an evening full of high energy songs. Polar Drift then immediately cranked the energy back up for their finale consisting of a whole group performance of Don’t Stop Believing.
Overall, the show was spectacular and a great start to the brand new school year. Their next performance will be on October 25 at 5:30 PM at the Dog House in Maplewood, and they would love to see you there!
