Hey, Polars! Black History Month has officially started and our school’s Black Student Union is hosting a Black History Month Showcase of Excellence this month to celebrate. The event will take place in North High’s cafeteria and auditorium on February 15, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Admittance is free – so why not join us there?!
Some things to look forward to if you decide to come are several musical performances, a majorette dance routine put together by students at North, a fashion show where students will show off their styles and cultures, and food!
February 7th will be the last day to sign up for the fashion show. To sign up, you can go to North’s BSU Instagram page @northstpaulbsu, and find the sign up in the event highlights.
Leading up to the BSU Showcase, we will also have a Spirit Week from Feb. 12th to Feb. BSU will have prizes for students and staff who dress the best and most on theme. Dress-up themes for each day:
- 2/12 Sleepwear Monday: Get comfy and wear your pajamas
- 2/13 Throwback Tuesday: Dress in your favorite decade- 80s, 90s, 00s
- 2/14 Well-Dressed Wednesday: Wear your best outfit and dress to impress
- 2/15 Black-out Thursday: Dress in all black
- 2/16 Iconic Duo Friday: Dress up with a friend as your favorite iconic duo
