Hunter Anderson was on his was to meet up with his best friend, Ruby and her friend Veronica, at Noodles and Company, when suddenly his car wouldn’t move. The Transmission had blown.. Hunter rolled into the Orthodontics Office’s parking lot, nearby, across from the Rainbow grocery store and called Ruby for help.

Hunter’s car, Betsy, had finally been put to rest. Luckily, Ruby had her AAA card on her. While waiting for the tow truck, Hunter and his friends lounged and ate the Noodles and Company that was greatly needed and deserved.

Betsy, was a pine green 2001 Honda Civic with light tan fabric interior, blown out speakers and holes in the ceiling of the car made by Hunter’s friends. She was a car with character and she was one of Hunter’s best friends. When Anderson turned her on, there was a soothing purring sound that was fairly loud followed by the sound of metal bars banging together. Her head lights were cloudy and her windshield wipers were squeaky, but she was Hunter’s first car and a good one at that. Her gas mileage was high and she was an early transportable car (at least until Monday, November 13th, 2017).

Hunters’ new car, A white Ram truck, has very low gas mileage and is very spendy to fill up. The tank has a leak and, unfortunately, Hunter has no idea where it’s located. Although Hunter is unsatisfied with the truck and misses Betsy, he is grateful for the mode of transportation he has.

Veronica calls the situation ‘traumatic’ and ‘frustrating’ for Hunter. You could see his distress when he tried to drive up a hill and the car only revved itself and rolled backwards, almost into traffic. Hunter put the car in park and yelled in frustration ” I won’t [freaking] go!!”. Veronica and Hunter pushed the back of the Honda up the hill and Ruby steered into the nearest, open, parking spot. Hunter turned on his hazards and waited patiently for help to come.

However, Hunter has a different outlook on the way the events of that night went down. He says, “At the time I wasn’t really scared, but as i pulled into the parking lot I started to worry about what to do.” Once a tow truck came, Hunter had seemed to be okay and not as frustrated with the situation at hand as he was when Ruby and Veronica had just shown up. In fact, he was smiling and laughing quite a bit.

Anderson admits, “..My car was having troubles accelerating when I was leaving school, but I chose to ignore the problem.”. Of course that probably wasn’t the smartest decision to make. “As I was on White Bear Ave., my car suddenly gave out. I was able to roll my car into a parking lot, thank God.”.

Unfortunately Hunter’s car, Betsy, will most likely not recover from the horrific event. Since the event on the evening of November 13th, 2017, Hunter has gotten a new truck (as seen in picture), that still has to be named but is “open for suggestions”.
