“Working in astronomy or space exploration” is just one of Andrew Surine’s goals in life. He has “always (liked) to look at the sky through (his) telescope.” In fact, he has read every book he can find about space due to his dream of floating through space to Mars!

Andrew has “been drawn to space” since the moment he first saw the night sky. He reveals, “It was a curiosity regarding the entirety of the universe that quickly led me to explore it at the age of five.”

Making space exploration possible for everyone is a motivating factor in Andrew’s life. He believes, “ Space is awesome”  and that the exploration of it should be widely available to those interested in taking a ride to any number of planets. He claims that his role model is, “Everyone who ever looked at the stars and saw the possibility of traveling there.”

Andrew is proud of “staying determined throughout the first (steps) in (his) journey to Mars. It’s not uncommon for a five-year-old boy to say he wants to be an astronaut when he grows up, but it’s quite rare for him to grow up with an unwavering determination to accomplish that every second of his life.”
